Ethical standards are the cornerstone of our advocacy work. CFA Institute members and investment professionals around the world adhere to our Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.

Building on its longstanding efforts to uphold high professional standards in the investment community, CFA Institute formed the CFA Institute Centre for Financial Market Integrity in 2004. The Centre is the policy and research center on global capital markets issues.

To promote high ethical standards and investor protections we:

Set and maintain global standards and professional codes of conduct for the investment profession, inluding the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS).

Promote improved financial reporting so investors receive clear and consistent information: Learn about our latest work on XBRL and financial statements.

Advocate for integrity in the capital markets though guidance and publications on issues such as corporate governance: Read our analysis of self-regulation and suggestions for the future.

Support investors around the world with ethics workshops, input on local industry issues, and topical research reports.
