Acting on Our Mission
Promoting high standards of ethics, integrity, and professional excellence is at the core of our mission at CFA Institute. We do that with our codes, best practice guidelines, and standards, which guide the investment industry and place clients' interests first.
The foundation of all the work the Centre does is based on our Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
Our other standards and guidelines further strengthen the industry with focused recommendations in key areas, such as investment performance and research objectivity. Our research informs investors and offers best practices on industry issues.

The proposal establishes a more detailed risk management process that identifies, monitors, and analyzes the risk position and exposure of a manager. This new provision provides asset managers with guidance that addresses many of the risk management concerns that have risen from the current market crisis. “The types of risks faced by Managers include, but are not limited to, market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, counterparty risk, operational risk and style drift,” says the provision. “Risk management that is objective and independent of the portfolio management process is imperative to understanding and controlling these types of risk.” Please review the addendum; comment period ends 15 January 2009. |
